Endotermicznoci

Endotermicznoci is a term sometimes encountered in Polish-language texts as a form describing the endothermic character of a process or system. It is not standard in scientific dictionaries, and many writers prefer endotermiczność or endotermiczny to express the same idea. When used, endotermicznoci generally denotes the property of absorbing heat from the surroundings during a reaction, phase change, or other transformation.

Endothermic processes require energy input. In chemistry, examples include the dissolution of certain salts in water, the melting of ice, or photosynthesis in plants. In physics and materials science, endothermic reactions or transitions involve positive enthalpy changes (ΔH > 0).

Quantitative assessment is typically done via calorimetry. The heat exchanged is q = m·c·ΔT for simple samples, and the reaction's enthalpy change ΔH is used to characterize the process. Endothermic processes are opposed to exothermic ones, which release heat (ΔH < 0).
