Endoplasmakalvo
Endoplasmakalvo, also known as the endoplasmic reticulum or ER, is a vast network of membranes found throughout the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells. It is continuous with the outer nuclear membrane and extends throughout the cell, forming a series of interconnected sacs and tubules called cisternae. The endoplasmakalvo plays a crucial role in protein synthesis, folding, modification, and transport, as well as lipid synthesis and calcium storage.
There are two distinct regions within the endoplasmakalvo: the rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) and the smooth
The SER, on the other hand, lacks ribosomes and is involved in lipid metabolism, detoxification of drugs
