Endinspiratorisk

Endinspiratorisk is a term used in respiratory physiology to describe the phase of breathing at the very end of inhalation. It refers to the point in the breathing cycle when the lungs have reached their maximum volume for that particular breath. This is a brief, transient moment before the exhalation phase begins. Physiologically, at end-inspiration, the diaphragm has reached its highest contracted position, and the intercostal muscles are fully engaged to expand the chest cavity. The pressure within the lungs at this point is typically slightly above atmospheric pressure.
