Emissivität

Emissivity is a thermophysical property that describes how effectively a surface emits thermal radiation. It is a dimensionless quantity, ranging from 0 to 1, representing the ratio of the thermal radiation emitted by a real object to the thermal radiation emitted by an ideal blackbody at the same temperature. A blackbody is a theoretical object that absorbs all incident electromagnetic radiation and emits radiation based solely on its temperature, thus having an emissivity of 1.

Real surfaces are generally not perfect blackbodies and therefore have emissivities less than 1. For example, polished metal surfaces typically have low emissivities, while dull or oxidized surfaces tend to have higher emissivities. The emissivity of a material is influenced by factors such as its surface texture, composition, temperature, and the wavelength of the emitted radiation.
