Elberfeld

Elberfeld is a district of the German city of Wuppertal in North Rhine-Westphalia. It lies on the western bank of the Wupper river and forms the historic urban core together with the neighboring district of Barmen. Historically, Elberfeld developed from a medieval market town into a major urban center and was an independent city before it became part of Wuppertal.
