Eachthigheirn

Eachthigheirn is a figure from Irish mythology, most notably appearing in the Lebor Gabála Érenn, or the Book of Invasions. He is described as a king of the Fir Bolg, one of the early peoples to settle in Ireland. According to the Lebor Gabála Érenn, the Fir Bolg were a race of people who had been enslaved by the Greeks and later fled to Ireland. Eachthigheirn is presented as one of their leaders during their time in Ireland.

The narrative of the Fir Bolg in Ireland is one of a relatively peaceful settlement that was eventually disrupted by the arrival of later groups. Eachthigheirn's reign, or significant role, is placed within this period. His name, meaning "horse-goer" or "steed-rider," suggests a figure of some importance or mobility.
