EUområdet
EUområdet, also known as the European Union Area, refers to the geographical territory encompassing the member states of the European Union. These countries have voluntarily joined together to form a unique economic and political partnership. The EU aims to promote peace, prosperity, and stability across its member states through cooperation in various fields. This includes a single market, allowing for the free movement of goods, services, capital, and people across national borders. Citizens of EU member states have the right to live, work, and study in any other EU country. The EU also has a common currency, the euro, used by a majority of its member states. Legislation passed at the EU level applies across all member states, contributing to harmonized policies on issues such as environmental protection, consumer rights, and competition. The EU represents a significant portion of the global economy and plays a substantial role in international affairs.
