Doebnervons
The Doebnervon reaction is a chemical reaction used to synthesize alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acids. It involves the condensation of an aldehyde with a secondary amine in the presence of a carboxylic acid. The reaction typically proceeds via the formation of an enamine intermediate from the aldehyde and amine, which then undergoes addition to the carboxylic acid. Subsequent dehydration leads to the formation of the desired unsaturated acid.
This reaction was named after its discoverers, German chemists Oskar Doebner and Wilhelm von Miller. While
