DniproHES
The DniproHES, officially the Oleksandr O. Yatsenko Dnieper Hydroelectric Station, is a large hydroelectric power plant on the Dnieper River in Ukraine. It is the fifth and last in the Dnieper cascade of power plants. Construction began in 1927, and the first turbines were put into operation in 1932. The station played a significant role in the industrialization of Ukraine, providing crucial electricity for burgeoning industries. During World War II, the dam was partially destroyed by retreating Soviet forces in 1941 and then rebuilt by German occupation forces before being destroyed again by retreating German forces in 1943. Following the war, the station was fully restored and expanded.
The DniproHES is a vital component of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, contributing a substantial amount of electricity
