Diplokokit
Diplokokit is a term used in microbiology to describe a specific arrangement of cocci, which are spherical bacteria. The prefix "diplo-" signifies that the cocci are found in pairs. Therefore, diplokokit refers to cocci that divide and remain attached to each other, forming pairs. This arrangement is a characteristic morphological feature observed under a microscope.
While many types of cocci can exhibit a diplococcal arrangement, some species are particularly known for it.
