Derleths

Derleths is a term used to refer to the people, culture, and main language of the southeast region of the planet Vurell in the Alpha Centauri star system. The name derives from the ancient Vurellian root derlen, meaning “river people,” which reflects the region’s prominent river network.

In contemporary usage, “Derleths” also denotes the distinctive agricultural techniques developed by the inhabitants, which rely heavily on hydroponic systems that mimic the natural flood cycles of the Regul River. These techniques have been adopted by neighboring regions and are sometimes referred to as the Derleth Method.
