Dargis
Dargis are an ethnic group native to the North Caucasus region, primarily residing in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. They are part of the Dagestani people and speak the Dargwa language, which belongs to the Northeast Caucasian language family. The Dargis are known for their rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and crafts. Their society is organized into clans, each with its own chief, and they have a strong oral tradition of storytelling and poetry. The Dargis have a history of resistance against Russian rule, with notable uprisings in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Today, they are predominantly Muslim, following the Hanafi school of Sunni Islam. The Dargis have contributed significantly to the cultural and linguistic diversity of the North Caucasus region.
