Cyclonically

Cyclonically refers to movement or patterns that are characteristic of a cyclone. A cyclone is a large-scale air mass that rotates around a strong center of low atmospheric pressure. These systems are typically associated with stormy weather, including heavy rain, strong winds, and sometimes thunderstorms. The term "cyclonically" can be used to describe the direction of rotation of these systems, which in the Northern Hemisphere is counterclockwise and in the Southern Hemisphere is clockwise.

The adjective can also describe the general flow of air within a low-pressure system, which is inward and upward. This inward spiral motion is what drives the storm's development and intensity. Beyond meteorological contexts, "cyclonically" can sometimes be used metaphorically to describe any swirling, inward-moving, or turbulent process. For instance, a project might be described as developing "cyclonically" if it starts to accelerate and draw in more resources and attention in a rapid, swirling manner. However, its primary and most common usage is in meteorology to describe the rotational and airflow patterns of cyclones.
