Consumís

Consumís is the second-person plural present indicative form of the Spanish verb consumir. It is used to address a group informally in Spain and in communities that use the vosotros form. In most of Latin America, the corresponding form is consumen, used with ustedes.

Etymology: From Latin consumere, the verb means to use up, eat, or expend resources. The present tense forms all derive from this root, including consumís for vosotros.

Conjugation (present indicative): yo consumo, tú consumes, él/ella/usted consume, nosotros consumimos, vosotros consumís, ellos/ellas/ustedes consumen.

Usage notes: The vosotros form is standard in Spain; most Latin American varieties prefer ustedes with the corresponding verb form. Consumís can appear in formal or written texts that retain the vosotros form, or in quotes from Spanish speakers who use that form. Example: Vosotros consumís demasiados recursos en este proyecto. Hoy consumís menos electricidad de lo habitual.
