Cherenkovlaskuri
Cherenkovlaskuri is a term that appears to be a portmanteau of "Cherenkov" and "laskuri," a Finnish word meaning "calculator" or "counter." The Cherenkov effect, named after Soviet physicist Pavel Cherenkov, is an electromagnetic radiation that can be produced when a charged particle passes through a dielectric medium at a speed greater than the phase velocity of light in that medium. This phenomenon is observed, for instance, in nuclear reactors where the blue glow of the water is due to Cherenkov radiation emitted by energetic electrons.
Given this etymology, a "Cherenkovlaskuri" would logically refer to a device or software designed to calculate
