Chemonociceptoren

Chemonociceptors are specialized sensory nerve endings that detect noxious chemical stimuli. They are a type of nociceptor, which are receptors that signal pain. These receptors play a crucial role in the body's defense mechanisms, alerting the nervous system to potentially harmful substances.

Upon encountering a chemical irritant or a substance released during tissue damage, chemonociceptors become activated.
