Catalizada
Catalizada refers to a process that has been accelerated or initiated by a catalyst. A catalyst is a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any permanent chemical change. In a catalyzed reaction, the catalyst typically lowers the activation energy required for the reaction to occur, meaning less energy is needed for the reactants to transform into products. This leads to a faster reaction rate. Catalysts can be involved in multiple steps of a reaction cycle, being regenerated at the end of each cycle. They do not affect the equilibrium position of a reversible reaction, only the speed at which equilibrium is reached. Catalysis is a fundamental concept in chemistry and is widely employed in various industrial processes, such as in the production of plastics, fertilizers, and fuels, as well as in biological systems where enzymes act as biological catalysts.
