CGRPtargeting

CGRPtargeting refers to a class of therapeutic approaches aimed at blocking the activity of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). CGRP is a neuropeptide found throughout the nervous system and is implicated in various physiological processes, including vasodilation, pain transmission, and neuroinflammation. Its role in migraine pathophysiology has been particularly well-established.

The development of CGRPtargeting therapies has revolutionized the treatment of migraine. These therapies primarily consist of monoclonal antibodies that bind to CGRP itself or to its receptor, thereby preventing CGRP from exerting its effects.
