Bonnyrigg
Bonnyrigg is a town in Midlothian, Scotland, situated about seven miles southeast of Edinburgh. It is part of the Midlothian council area and lies within the broader Edinburgh metropolitan region. The town developed from a rural settlement into a market town and later a residential suburb as Edinburgh expanded. Its history includes agricultural origins and, in the surrounding district, coal mining and quarrying that helped growth during the 18th and 19th centuries, followed by transport improvements that connected Bonnyrigg with nearby towns.
Today, Bonnyrigg has amenities such as local shops, primary and secondary schools, parks, and community facilities.
