Biotindependent
Biotindependent is an informal term sometimes used in biology to describe systems that do not depend on biotin (vitamin B7) for their function, or that do not require biotin as a cofactor. The phrase is not a standardized label in mainstream biochemical nomenclature, and its precise meaning can vary by context. In some uses, it refers to enzymes, pathways, or organisms that either lack biotin-dependent enzymes, do not rely on biotin-containing enzymes for essential reactions, or can synthesize biotin internally so they are not dependent on external biotin supply.
