Beyeler

Beyeler is a Swiss-German surname. The name is associated with Ernst Beyeler (1921–2010), a Swiss art dealer and collector who built a renowned collection of modern art.

Fondation Beyeler is a private museum of modern and contemporary art in Riehen, near Basel, Switzerland. It was established by Ernst and Hilda Beyeler and opened in 1997. The building was designed by Renzo Piano. The collection includes works by Monet, Picasso, Rothko, and Giacometti, among others. The foundation hosts rotating exhibitions, catalogs, and educational programs, and it is regarded as one of Switzerland’s leading institutions for modern art.
