BerlinKönigsberg

Berlin-Königsberg was a German football club from Berlin, East Germany, that existed from 1951 to 1954. The team was formed in the aftermath of World War II, when the city of Berlin was divided into four sectors controlled by the Allied Powers.

Berlin-Königsberg was the result of the merger of VfB Königsberg and Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin, two clubs that were both founded before World War II. VfB Königsberg was a leading football club in the German Democratic Republic before the war, while Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin was a Berlin-based club that had competed in the Gauliga, the top division of football in Nazi Germany.

Despite being a relatively new club, Berlin-Königsberg was playing in the top division of East German football, known as the DDR-Oberliga, by 1951. The team played their home games at the Olympiastadion in Berlin and had a mix of German and Baltic players in their lineup, reflecting the city's complex cultural and historical ties.

However, the club's existence was short-lived. Berlin-Königsberg folded after the 1953-54 season, reportedly due to the costs of maintaining the Olympiastadion and competing in the DDR-Oberliga. The team's players went on to join other clubs in East Germany, including BFC Dynamo and SC Berlin.
