BergünBravuogn

BergünBravuogn is a municipality in the Albula District of the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Located in the Engadin valley, it is situated on the Albula Pass road, a historically significant route connecting the Rhine valley with the Engadin. The municipality was formed in 2018 through the merger of the former municipalities of Bergün and Bravuogn. This union brought together two villages with distinct but complementary characteristics.

Bergün is renowned for its remarkably well-preserved traditional Engadin architecture, featuring characteristic painted houses and a picturesque village center. The village is also the starting point for the famous Albula Line of the Rhaetian Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its impressive viaducts and tunnels. Bravuogn, the other part of the merged municipality, offers a more secluded and tranquil atmosphere, nestled amidst the alpine landscape.

The area surrounding BergünBravuogn is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. In winter, it is a ski resort, and in summer, it provides access to numerous hiking and mountain biking trails.
