Baibar
Baibar, also known as Baybars, was a prominent leader in the Mamluk Sultanate of Egypt and Syria during the 13th century. He is renowned for his military prowess and his role in the expansion of the Mamluk state. Baibar was a Mamluk slave who rose through the ranks to become one of the most powerful sultans in the Mamluk dynasty.
Born in 1223, Baibar was captured in a raid on the Crusader states and sold into slavery.
