BDROMskivor, which translates to "BD-ROM discs" in English, refers to optical discs used for storing digital data, primarily for distributing high-definition video content. BD-ROM is a read-only format, meaning the data is permanently written during manufacturing and cannot be altered by the end-user. This distinguishes it from rewritable formats like BD-RE.
The primary advantage of BD-ROM discs is their large storage capacity, significantly greater than that of DVDs.
The development of BD-ROM was spearheaded by the Blu-ray Disc Association, a consortium of consumer electronics
