BCRABLkinaasin
BCRABLKinaasin, also known as BCR-ABL kinase, is a specific type of protein found in humans that plays a crucial role in cell signaling. This protein is an abnormal, constitutively active tyrosine kinase that arises from a chromosomal translocation. This translocation, specifically the Philadelphia chromosome, fuses the BCR gene from chromosome 22 with the ABL1 gene from chromosome 9. The resulting BCR-ABL fusion protein has significantly elevated tyrosine kinase activity compared to the normal ABL1 protein. This uncontrolled activity leads to the abnormal proliferation and survival of white blood cells.
The BCR-ABL kinase is most notably associated with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and a subset of acute
Targeted therapies, such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), have been developed to specifically inhibit the activity
