Aurukompressioonitsüklit

Aurukompressioonitsüklit is a thermodynamic cycle that describes the process of refrigeration or heat pumping. It is the most common type of refrigeration cycle used in domestic refrigerators, air conditioners, and industrial cooling systems. The cycle consists of four main stages: compression, condensation, expansion, and evaporation.

In the compression stage, a refrigerant, typically a gas, is compressed by a compressor. This increases its temperature and pressure. The hot, high-pressure refrigerant then flows into the condenser, where it releases heat to the surroundings and changes from a gas to a liquid.

Next, the liquid refrigerant passes through an expansion valve, which reduces its pressure and temperature significantly. This cold, low-pressure liquid then enters the evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the space to be cooled. As it absorbs heat, the refrigerant evaporates back into a gas.

Finally, the low-pressure gas returns to the compressor, and the cycle repeats. The efficiency of the aurukompressioonitsüklit can be measured by its coefficient of performance (COP), which is the ratio of the desired cooling effect to the work input required. Factors such as ambient temperature, refrigerant properties, and component efficiencies influence the overall performance of the system. Variations of the basic cycle exist, such as the vapor-compression refrigeration cycle, which is essentially the same process with a different term.
