Arshavin

Andrey Sergeyevich Arshavin (born 29 May 1981) is a Russian former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder or forward. He was born in Leningrad, Soviet Union (now Saint Petersburg, Russia).

Arshavin began his senior career with Zenit Saint Petersburg, establishing himself as a key player and helping the club win the UEFA Cup in 2007–08 as well as domestic titles. In January 2009, he transferred to Arsenal in the English Premier League, where he spent about three-and-a-half seasons and became a regular contributor with his vision and technique. He returned to Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2012, continuing his club career there before eventually winding down his playing days.

On the international stage, Arshavin debuted for the Russia national team in 2002 and earned a substantial number of caps over the following decade. He represented Russia at multiple major tournaments, including UEFA Euro 2004, Euro 2008, and Euro 2012, and remained a prominent figure in Russian football during his peak years.

Arshavin was known for his creativity, left-footed passing, and ability to unlock defenses with short and long-range passes. He is regarded as one of Russia's most notable players of his generation.
