Anderlecht

Anderlecht is a municipality in the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium. It is located in the western part of the region, bordering the Flemish municipalities of Dilbeek and Sint-Agatha-Berchem, and the Brussels municipalities of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean and Koekelberg. Anderlecht is one of the nineteen municipalities that make up the Brussels-Capital Region.

The municipality is perhaps best known internationally as the home of the Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht, a highly successful professional football club. The club's stadium, Lotto Park, is located in Anderlecht. Historically, Anderlecht has been a significant industrial and residential area. It has a diverse population and a rich cultural heritage, including several historical sites and museums. The Erasmus House, a museum dedicated to the humanist scholar Erasmus, is situated in Anderlecht. The municipality also features various parks and green spaces, contributing to its urban landscape. Anderlecht's administrative center is located at the Anderlecht Town Hall. The area is well-connected by public transport, including metro lines and tram services.
