Analoogsignaaliväljundite

Analoogsignaal refers to a signal that varies continuously over time, meaning it can take on an infinite number of values within a given range. This is in contrast to a digital signal, which can only represent discrete values. Analog signals are often used to represent physical phenomena such as sound waves, light intensity, temperature, or pressure.

The representation of information in an analog signal is achieved by varying one or more of its properties, such as amplitude, frequency, or phase. For example, in an audio recording, the amplitude of the analog signal corresponds to the loudness of the sound, while its frequency corresponds to the pitch. Similarly, in radio transmission, information is often encoded by modulating the amplitude or frequency of a carrier wave.

Analog signals are susceptible to noise, which is any unwanted disturbance that can corrupt the signal. This noise can be introduced during transmission, recording, or processing. Because analog signals are continuous, noise can be difficult to remove without also degrading the original signal. This is a significant limitation compared to digital signals, where noise can often be filtered out more effectively.

Despite their limitations, analog signals are still widely used in many applications. Examples include traditional vinyl records, cassette tapes, broadcast radio and television (in their analog forms), and many sensor outputs. In some cases, analog signals are preferred due to their simplicity or their direct representation of physical quantities. However, the trend in many fields is towards digitization due to the advantages of digital signal processing, storage, and transmission, including better noise immunity and fidelity.
