Alternativë

Alternativë is a term used in Albanian-language discourse to denote something that offers a non-mainstream or non-conventional option. It functions as a feminine noun meaning "an alternative" and as an adjective meaning "alternative." In practice, it appears in phrases such as kultura alternativë ("alternative culture"), muzikë alternativë ("alternative music"), and politika alternativë ("alternative policy").

Etymology and form: The word is borrowed from Latin alternativus, via French alternatif and English alternative, and adapted to Albanian phonology and orthography. The final -ë is a characteristic feminine ending in Albanian, marking agreement with feminine nouns.
