Aktinabhängige refers to processes or molecules that require the presence or interaction of actin to function. Actin is a globular protein that polymerizes to form filaments, which are crucial components of the cytoskeleton in eukaryotic cells. These actin filaments, also known as microfilaments, are involved in a wide range of cellular activities.

Many cellular processes are considered actinabhängige. For instance, cell motility, including cell crawling and amoeboid movement, relies heavily on the dynamic assembly and disassembly of actin filaments to create protrusions and retract parts of the cell membrane. Cell division, specifically cytokinesis, involves a contractile ring made of actin and myosin that pinches the cell into two daughter cells. Intracellular transport of vesicles and organelles can also be guided along actin tracks by motor proteins like myosin.

Furthermore, numerous proteins interact with actin to regulate its polymerization, depolymerization, and interaction with other cellular components. These actin-binding proteins play critical roles in organizing the actin cytoskeleton and mediating its diverse functions. Examples include profilin, which promotes actin filament growth, and cofilin, which severs actin filaments. The proper functioning of muscle contraction is also dependent on the interaction of actin and myosin filaments. Therefore, any biological phenomenon that is critically dependent on the actin cytoskeleton can be broadly described as actinabhängige.
