Adventism
Adventism is a Christian movement that originated in 19th-century United States, centered on the imminent return of Jesus Christ and the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath. It grew from the Millerite expectation of Christ’s near return in the 1830s and 1840s; after the Great Disappointment of 1844, several groups formed, the largest of which became the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1863.
Most Adventist bodies affirm the Bible as authority, the future return of Christ, and a Sabbath kept
Adventism is not a single denomination but a family of groups, the largest being the Seventh-day Adventist
