Abdominális refers to anything relating to the abdomen, the part of the body between the thorax and the pelvis. This region contains many vital organs, including the stomach, intestines, liver, spleen, pancreas, and kidneys. Abdominal pain is a common symptom that can arise from issues affecting any of these organs, as well as from the abdominal wall muscles.

Abdominal anatomy is typically divided into four quadrants or nine regions to help healthcare professionals pinpoint the location of pain or abnormalities. Common conditions affecting the abdomen include appendicitis, hernias, gallstones, ulcers, and inflammatory bowel disease. Diagnostic procedures such as physical examination, blood tests, imaging scans (ultrasound, CT, MRI), and endoscopy are used to assess abdominal health.

The term "abdominális" is also used in specific medical contexts. For example, an abdominális aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a dangerous swelling in the main artery supplying blood to the abdomen. Abdominális distension refers to the visible enlargement of the abdomen, which can be caused by gas, fluid, or masses. Understanding the abdominal region is crucial for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions.
