15183
15183 is a minor planet in the asteroid belt, located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. It was discovered on February 14, 1999, by the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) team at the Lincoln Laboratory's Experimental Test Site near Socorro, New Mexico. The asteroid is approximately 5 kilometers in diameter and has a rotation period of about 5.6 hours. It orbits the Sun with a semi-major axis of 2.7 astronomical units (AU), completing one orbit every 4.4 Earth years. The orbital eccentricity of 15183 is 0.08, and its orbital inclination is 1.3 degrees relative to the ecliptic. The asteroid's spectral type is X, indicating a primitive composition, likely rich in carbonaceous material. 15183 has not been visited by any spacecraft, and its surface features remain unknown.
