çmimi

Çmimi is a masculine Albanian noun that primarily means price or cost of goods or services. It is also used to denote a prize or award given in recognition of achievement. The term appears in both senses in everyday language and in formal discourse; the definite form is çmimi and the plural is çmimet.

In the sense of price, çmimi denotes the monetary value assigned to a product or service. Prices are discussed in relation to supply and demand, production costs, and market competition, and they are usually expressed in the local currency. Phrases such as çmimi i produktit, çmimet e tregut, and ulja ose rritja e çmimit are common. In commerce and economics, the word can appear with modifiers to indicate price levels, discounts, taxes, and inflation.

In the sense of prize, çmimi refers to an award or honor given for achievement in arts, science, sport, or other fields. It is used with proper nouns or descriptive phrases, for example çmimi Nobel or çmimi për arritje shkencore. People fitojnë çmimin when they win the prize.
