Äikesesüsteemideks is the Estonian term for thunderstorm systems. These are meteorological phenomena characterized by the presence of lightning and thunder, typically accompanied by heavy rainfall, strong winds, and sometimes hail or tornadoes. Äikesesüsteemideks form when warm, moist air rises rapidly in an unstable atmosphere. This upward movement of air, known as updraft, cools and condenses, forming cumulonimbus clouds, the signature cloud type of thunderstorms.
Within these towering clouds, collisions between ice crystals and water droplets generate electrical charges. When these
