Óhlutbundnar
Óhlutbundnar is Icelandic for “immaterial” or “not bound to a physical thing.” The term derives from hlutbundinn, meaning bound to a thing, with the negating prefix ó-, which yields the sense of something not tied to material objects. As an adjective, óhlutbundnar (and its other inflections such as óhlutbundinn or óhlutbundin) is used to describe phenomena, ideas, or entities that are not inherently linked to physical form.
In linguistic and scholarly usage, the concept is employed to distinguish between material (hlutbundin) and non-material
The term serves as a useful contrast to hlutbundin, which denotes something bound to a physical object
