írnánk

írnánk is the first-person plural conditional form of the Hungarian verb írni, meaning to write. It is used to express a hypothetical action or a tentative plan in the present or future, roughly corresponding to “we would write” in English. The form is also found in polite suggestions or conditional clauses.

Formation and related forms: The Hungarian conditional mood is built by attaching the suffix -nánk to the verb stem. For írni, the stem is ír-, giving írnánk for the first-person plural. Other persons have their own forms, such as írnál (you would write), írna (he/she would write), írnátok (you would write, plural), and írnának (they would write). The negation uses nem írnánk, meaning “we would not write.”

Usage and examples: Írnánk egy rövid jelentést. (We would write a short report.) Ha lenne rá időnk, írnánk részletes dokumentumot. (If we had time, we would write a detailed document.)
