zsaluzás

Zsaluzás is a Hungarian term referring to the process of building formwork, also known as shuttering, in construction. This formwork is a temporary or permanent mold into which concrete is poured. The primary purpose of zsaluzás is to support and contain the wet concrete until it hardens and gains sufficient strength to stand on its own.

The materials used for zsaluzás can vary widely, depending on the project's scale, complexity, and budget. Common materials include timber (plywood, planks), metal (steel, aluminum), and plastic. The design and construction of the formwork are critical, as they must be strong enough to withstand the immense pressure of the wet concrete, as well as precise enough to achieve the desired shape and dimensions of the final concrete element.

After the concrete has cured and achieved its intended strength, the formwork is removed. This removal process is called "zsaluzás bontása" in Hungarian.
