Zakonore, also known as Zakonorechye, is a historical region in the southern part of the Kursk Oblast, Russia. It is situated between the Seym and the Donets rivers, and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The region was first mentioned in historical records in the 12th century, and has been inhabited by various ethnic groups over the centuries, including the Polovtsy, the Mongols, and the Russians.

Zakonore is notable for its role in the history of the Russian state. In the 13th century, the region was a center of power for the Mongol khans, who ruled over a vast territory that included parts of modern-day Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. The region was also a key location for the Battle of the Blue Waters in 1237, a major conflict between the Mongol forces and the Kievan Rus'.

In the 16th century, Zakonore became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and later the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
