Växthusgasen refers to greenhouse gases, which are gases in Earth's atmosphere that trap heat. They play a crucial role in regulating the planet's temperature. Without greenhouse gases, Earth would be too cold to support life as we know it.

The primary greenhouse gases are water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and ozone (O3). The increased concentration of these gases in the atmosphere leads to an enhanced greenhouse effect. This means more heat is trapped, causing the planet's average temperature to rise. This phenomenon is known as global warming, which is a key component of climate change. The consequences of global warming include rising sea levels, more frequent and intense extreme weather events, and disruptions to ecosystems. Understanding and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions are therefore essential for addressing climate change.
