voblasti
Voblasts are administrative divisions found in Belarus, a country in Eastern Europe. The term "voblast" is derived from the Russian word "oblast," which means "region" or "district." Belarus is divided into six voblasts, each governed by a voblast executive committee, which is responsible for local administration and policy implementation. The voblasts are further subdivided into raions (districts) and cities of voblast significance, which have their own administrative bodies. The voblasts are named after their administrative centers: Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev, and Vitebsk. Each voblast has its own unique cultural, economic, and historical characteristics, contributing to the diverse tapestry of Belarus. The voblasts play a crucial role in the country's administrative structure, facilitating the implementation of national policies and the provision of local services to the population.
