Vektorösszeadásra, also known as vector addition, is a fundamental operation in mathematics and physics. It describes how to combine two or more vectors to produce a single resultant vector. A vector possesses both magnitude and direction.

There are several graphical methods for vector addition. The tip-to-tail method, also called the triangle law, involves placing the tail of the second vector at the tip of the first vector. The resultant vector is then drawn from the tail of the first vector to the tip of the second. The parallelogram law is another graphical approach, where two vectors are drawn from a common origin, forming two adjacent sides of a parallelogram. The resultant vector is the diagonal of this parallelogram that starts at the common origin.

Alternatively, vector addition can be performed algebraically using components. If a vector is represented by its components in a coordinate system (e.g., (x1, y1) for the first vector and (x2, y2) for the second), the resultant vector's components are found by adding the corresponding components: (x1 + x2, y1 + y2). This component-wise addition extends to any number of vectors and any number of dimensions.

Vector addition is crucial in physics for phenomena such as calculating the net force acting on an object, determining the resultant displacement from multiple movements, or combining velocities. Its properties, like associativity and commutativity, make it a well-behaved mathematical operation.
