Titrauskäyrä, also known as a titration curve, is a graphical representation of the change in a measured property (typically pH or potential) during a titration. It plots this measured property on the y-axis against the volume of titrant added on the x-axis. Titration is a quantitative chemical analysis technique used to determine the concentration of a substance (analyte) by reacting it with a solution of known concentration (titrant).

The shape of a titration curve provides valuable information about the reaction occurring and the properties of the analyte and titrant. A sharp inflection point, or equivalence point, is a characteristic feature of many titration curves. This point represents the stage where the amount of titrant added is stoichiometrically equivalent to the amount of analyte present. The steepness of the curve around the equivalence point indicates the precision of the titration.

Different types of titrations produce distinct titration curves. For example, in an acid-base titration, the pH is monitored. A strong acid-strong base titration will show a very steep pH change around the equivalence point. Weak acid-strong base titrations will exhibit a buffer region before the equivalence point and a less dramatic pH change. In redox titrations, the potential difference between electrodes is measured, resulting in a potential vs. volume curve. The shape of these curves helps in identifying the equivalence point and thus calculating the unknown concentration of the analyte. Analyzing the titration curve is crucial for accurate quantitative analysis.
