Szállás is a historical region in modern-day Hungary and Slovakia. The szállás system was a method of landholding and taxation that was used in the Kingdom of Hungary during the Middle Ages. The szállás system was prevalent in the northern and central regions of the Kingdom of Hungary, where agriculture was the primary economic activity. However, the system was not without its limitations and problems.
