Sudetingisnis, also known as Sudeten German, refers to the German-speaking population of the Sudetenland region, which is located in the western part of present-day Czech Republic. The Sudetenland was historically part of the Kingdom of Bohemia, which was a constituent kingdom of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1867 to 1918. After World War I, the region became part of Czechoslovakia. The Sudeten Germans were predominantly Roman Catholic and spoke a variety of German dialects.
