Rotasjonal is an adjective used to describe properties, operations, or objects related to rotation. The term is used in Norwegian and in English-language contexts as a translation of rotational.

In mathematics, rotations are described by rotation groups, such as SO(n) in n-dimensional space. A function or object is rotation-invariant if applying any rotation to its input leaves its essential properties unchanged; formally, f(Rx) = f(x) for all R in the rotation group. Rotational symmetry denotes invariance under rotations. A circle has continuous rotational symmetry, while a square has discrete rotational symmetry of order four (invariance under 90-degree steps).
