Relativitáselméletekben refers to the theories of relativity in Hungarian. This encompasses both Albert Einstein's special theory of relativity and his general theory of relativity. The special theory of relativity, published in 1905, revolutionized our understanding of space and time. It postulates that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers and that the speed of light in a vacuum is constant, regardless of the observer's motion. This leads to counterintuitive consequences such as time dilation and length contraction.

The general theory of relativity, published in 1915, extended these ideas to include gravity. It describes gravity not as a force, but as a curvature of spacetime caused by mass and energy. Massive objects warp the fabric of spacetime around them, and this curvature dictates how other objects move. General relativity has been experimentally verified through phenomena like the bending of starlight by gravity and the precise orbit of Mercury. Both theories have profound implications for fields ranging from cosmology and astrophysics to the development of technologies like GPS. They represent a fundamental shift in our understanding of the universe's fundamental structure.
