Receptorsmodulating is a concept within pharmacology and cell biology that refers to the process by which the activity of cellular receptors is altered or controlled. Receptors are protein molecules, typically located on the surface of or within cells, that bind to specific signaling molecules such as hormones, neurotransmitters, or drugs. This binding event initiates a cellular response, leading to a particular physiological effect.

Receptor modulation can occur through various mechanisms. Agonists are molecules that bind to a receptor and activate it, mimicking the action of the natural signaling molecule.
